LAHORE: Former England captain-turned-commentator David Gower will be among a group of foreign commentators who will be part of the Pakistan Super League commentary panel for the tournament starting this week.
The comment panel for the month-long event starting at the Karachi National Stadium on Saturday February 20 was presented by the PCB today.
“Pakistani commentators who are synonymous with the league, including Bazid Khan, Ramiz Raja, Sana Mir and Urooj Mumtaz, will make bilingual comments, while renowned Urdu commentator Tariq Saeed and Sikandar Bakht will be on the panel as Urdu commentators.” the press release said. .
In addition to Gower, other foreign commentators joining the league include Simon Doull, Pommie Mbangwa, JP Duminy, Danny Morrison, Dominic Cork and Alan Wilkins.
However, the former England captain and Danny Morrision will only be part of the comment panel for the Karachi leg of the tournament.
Gower won’t be the only one to appear as a commentator for the first time. It will also be a first for Simon Doull and former South African off-roader JP Duminy. The PCB said that Duminy and Mbangwa will join the comment box for the second stage in Lahore.
The PCB said that the tournament will be produced in Full HD mode by the Blitz Advertising / Transgroup & NEP consortium.
“The HBL PSL 6 will be produced with a camera setup of more than 30 years, the production will be Full HD, while the majority of the lenses will be 4K for additional sharpness of the images,” said the press release.
The configuration includes super-slow motion cameras, ultra-movement, Spidercam with ‘Parvàz’, Hawkeye with all DRS improvements, buggy-cam with capacity for player interviews and drone camera, among others, the statement adds.
