KARACHI: Pakistani all-rounder and former captain Shahid Afridi promised not to disappoint his fans in the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), saying he was ready for the next tournament.
Afridi, speaking to Geo.tv, hoped fans would enjoy
“quality cricket” throughout PSL 6, which kicks off on February 20 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
“In regards to my game and fitness, I would say that I will not disappoint my fans,” Afridi said in his video message to Geo.tv.
“I have played in various leagues around the world and I can say with complete confidence that the standard of bowling at PSL is unmatched. It delivers a high-quality bowling attack that you can’t get anywhere else, “he said.
“Many foreign cricketers I know express their desire to play in the Pakistani Super League, which speaks to their standards; many are still eager to be part of the PSL, “said Afridi.
In crediting PSL as a springboard for local youth, he said that many new cricketers are playing for the national team because of the cricket league.
Afridi called PSL the “face of Pakistan” and urged everyone to work collectively to make it a successful event.
“This is Pakistan’s brand and it is taking Pakistani cricket to new heights,” Afridi said of PSL.
“I am very excited about the 6th edition, as are other players. I am sure that the fans will enjoy the maximum competition in the next edition of the Pakistani Super League, as all the teams look very balanced this time, ”he concluded.
